Things are a' changin!

Yes yes I know I havent written in this FOREVER! But I have a wonderful excuse I swear! I have been working both jobs (subbing full time and nannying part-time) and working on masters courses as well. In conjunction with this I have been feeling "under the weather" for the last, oh, 11 weeks give or take. Yes you guessed it you sly dog you, I am pregnant! We are expecting our first little one in April of 2010. The "all day" sickness hit me extremely hard in about week 5 and stuck around until about week 13. I am currently 14 weeks and 4 days pregnant. It has been a crazy couple of months that is for sure!

We decided that we would start trying for a child, but we were (okay me) sure that it would take at least a few cycles before we had success. Well, um, okay, we were wrong (okay me). It took us one cycle to conceive our green bean, and that made for one shocked mama! I had really hoped that we would conceive in the fall so that the baby would be due in early summer. But life doesnt work that way does it? So we are due in the spring, but we are both very happy regardless.

I am feeling much better currently, and am looking forward to the 20 week anatomical scan to tell us the gender. We are only 6 weeks away from that!

So although I am busy (as usual) and am wondering how this baby will fit into all the craziness that is our life, we are both very excited to meet this blessing!

Here is a pregnancy calendar which I think is so cute! It measures the babies growth by comparing them to fruit. And since fruit has consistently been one of the only foods I can eat I thought it appropriate!

Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.
